Emma Raducanu, the young Brit has been struggling with her performance due to the lack of form and injuries which has been an area of concern since her maiden title win at the US Open in 2021. She is yet to another Grand Slam or even a singles title in any of the WTA events. She had even failed to defend her title at the US Open following another early-round exit.

She defeated Magda Linette in straight sets to make it to the semi-finals as it was her first appearance in the final four of a tournament since her triumph in 2021. She faced Jelena Ostapenko in the semi-final and the match was leveled as 1-1 with both players winning one set each. But she looked at some kind of agony that restricted her movements. She decided to retire from the match citing a left glute injury as her reason for withdrawal.

The Brit had started off on a good start as she did not drop a set on the way to the semi-finals at Seoul. The semi-final withdrawal marked her fourth withdrawal in the middle of the match this season each time citing another injury scare. She had retired with a left injury at Guadalajara, a lower back injury at the Italian Open, and a rib injury during the Nottingham Open.

Emma Raducanu had been very inconsistent and with her series of losses since her maiden title win at the US Open in 2021, she had failed to even pass through the quarter-finals of any of her WTA matches prior to Korea Open. She had even failed to make her presence longer as she lost in the second round of the Slovenia Open.

With her inconsistencies, she had a huge fall in her overall rankings and fell out of the Top 50. The young Brit is highly criticized on social media for another shocking exit and her antics of walking out of matches when she feels she is on the losing side. She was even advised to find another career apart from tennis since she has not performed up to the mark.
