Meanwhile, Carlos Alcaraz kept his World No.1 ranking due to his impeccable performance in the tournament. He reached the semi-final but had to retire due to an abdomen injury. He received 90 points for his performance.
The great Spaniard Rafael Nadal maintained his position as the World No.2 despite a poor showing at the tournament. Stefanos Tsitsipas on the other hand jumped two places as he gained 315 points and the World No.3 spot.
Casper Ruud was miraculously able to keep his World No.4 rank, even though he was defeated by Lorenzo Musetti in the second round of the competition and lost 490 points. The greatest upset came for Daniil Medvedev as he lost 1590 points and his World No.3 spot to Stefanos Tsitsipas and dropped to No.5.
Both Felix Auger-Aliassime and Andrey Rublev jumped two places at the expense of Novak Djokovic. While the Canadian gained 270 points and World No.6 rank, the Russian lost 155 points, and the World No.7 spot. But no significant damage was done to the Serb as he lost 1000 points and dropped one place below No.8.
Taylor Fritz also jumped two places above the World No.9 rank. Although he lost 135 points, the American is within arm’s reach of making it to the ATP Finals. It may be possible that he may get a chance to play in the season-ending tournament as Carlos Alcaraz is injured and out of the tournament. Holger Rune is the last player in the Top 10 as he jumped 8 places.
