Novak Djokovic added another feather to his cap at the Rome Masters by winning 1000 tour-level matches. He defeated Casper Ruud in the semifinals in straight sets 6-4,6-3 to reach the Final and in the process, record his 1000th win. Djokovic has become only the 5th man in tennis history to complete 1000 wins, the other 4 being Jim Connors, Roger Federer, Ivan Lendl, and Rafael Nadal.

At 34 years and 11 months, he is the oldest player to win his 1000th win. Rafael Nadal at 34 years and 5 months held the record previously while Connors is the youngest player to win 1000 matches.
