‘Love this guy’ Andy Murray joins Steph Curry fan club with his congratulatory message for the Warriors star upon winning the NBA title
Steph Curry and Andy Murray
3-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray like many sports fans witnessed the Golden State Warriors win their 4th NBA title in the last 8 years as they defeated Boston Celtics in Game 6 to clinch the Best-of-7 series 4-2 and did it in style by winning the title on the road as the win was registered in the TD Garden in Boston. It was the first title for the Warriors since 2018 having earlier clinched the rings in 2015 and 2017 as well.
One man instrumental throughout these four titles was Stephen Curry. Curry has been in the Warriors squad ever since he made his debut in 2009 and is quite well now the most important player in the team. He played a big part during their 2015 campaign when the Warriors won their first NBA title since 1975, after a gap of 40 years and led the team once again this year as he was named the MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the 2022 NBA Finals.

With Curry and the Warriors winning 3 titles in 4 years from 2015 to 2018, a lot was expected in the following years as well but the team could not live up to the expectation as a mini-rebuild was seen where the only point of glory came in the 2019 season when they won their Division and Conference but came runner-up to Toronto Raptors in the Finals. Curry along with teammates Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andre Igoudala now holds the distinction for most titles among active players.
With the 2020 and 2021 seasons affected due to Covid and injuries on the team, this year’s win was extra special. Murray shared Curry’s post with the NBA title and his MVP trophy on his Instagram story and captioned it, “Love this guy”.
