Former World No.1 Martina Navratilova has some huge expectations from Coco Gauff after her US Open triumph. Navratilova predicted that Gauff will win at least 10 Grand Slam titles in the future. Provided an injury-free career, the Czech has claimed that Gauff would reach the double digits in the number of Grand Slam titles she will win.
Martina Navratilova herself is quite a prominent figure in the tennis world. With a total of 18 singles titles and 32 doubles titles, she is one of the rare ones qualified enough to comment on the players’ games. During her career she had won an astounding 167 singles and 177 doubles titles, making her mark permanent in the tennis world.
Navratilova commented on Coco Gauff and said, “I don’t know who those people were who were doubting her because it certainly wasn’t me. She’s not stopping so watch out world. If she doesn’t go into double digits for Majors I would be surprised, if she stays healthy.” It is not uncommon in the tennis world for injuries to make or break a player. The Czech legend acknowledged that if all goes well and the American does not get majorly injured, it would be a very real possibility for her to win more than ten Grand Slam titles. While this might just be the beginning of her career for the American, she still has a long way to go. At just 19 years old, Gauff has made an impact in tennis, winning her maiden Slam at home. The American has big names to overtake in the likes of Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka if she wants to be the World No.1. However, she is on the right track to do so, according to the Czech.
