Tennis legend Martina Navratilova has accused Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu of orchestrating a genocide against Palestine through a recent tweet on X. She has claimed that he does not really care about his own people or the Israelis that Hamas have been currently keeping captive and is just continuing the war to wipe out Palestinians and remain in power.
To put things in context, after an attempted mediation by Qatar, a prisoner exchange took place between Israel and Hamas, wherein Hamas released some of the Israelis that they had held captive. Israel was asked to release some of their Palestinian prisoners.
As a result, the bombings were stopped for a couple of days. However, things deteriorated between the two parties once again due to the slow release of captives by Hamas and thus the conflict has resumed again.
Currently, Hamas still has 136 hostages and according to the latest reports, Hamas is not releasing the remaining women hostages because it seems like they have been s*xually abusing them. It has led to a lot of controversy once again and many have criticized Netanyahu for resuming the war in such a sensitive situation.
It is this controversy that Martina Navratilova reacted to. A particular user commented, “Netanyahu never gave two shits about his own people. That’s why the IOF had no issues slaughtering their own people on October 7. He also doesn’t really give two shits about eradicating Hamas. He cares only about wiping out Palestinians. Period. It’s a genocide. At all costs.”
To this, Navratilova added,
All of that and staying in power so he can stay out of prison…
Martina Navratilova condemns Israeli diplomat for being unable to answer questions about Gaza’s reconstruction
Piers Morgan recently interviewed Tzipi Hotovely, who is Israel’s ambassador to the UK, and asked her where all the Gazans will stay once the war is over. The large number of missile and bomb attacks on the Gaza Strip by Israel has led to the destruction of thousands of buildings, which led to this important question. The ambassador was unable to answer these questions properly.
Navratilova retweeted a clip of the interview and wrote, “No Answer.”
The tennis legend has been pretty openly against the ongoing ‘genocide’ on Palestine by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. She has opined that he is doing this solely to remain in power.
