American tennis legend Martina Navratilova lost her cool after she found out that a group of transgender activists were mocking an Australian surfer just because she spoke against trans athletes competing in women’s sports. As Navratilova has never been in favor of trans athletes disrupting the sporting ecosystem of women’s sports, she called out these bully activists for their nastiness.

As a user highlighted how these transgender activists stooped a new low by mocking Bethany Hamilton, a respected Australian surfer who famously lost her arm to a shark attack in 2003 by holding a toy shark, Martina Navratilova fumed in anger.

The former tennis ace highlighted how these activists are crossing all the limits. Navratilova also questioned those who ask others to be kind to such activists who care little about others.

How nasty are they? This nasty. And we are the ones who need to be kind???
Martina Navratilova posted on X while resharing the user’s post who highlighted the protest.

No place for trans athletes in women’s sports for Martina Navratilova

Martina Navratilova has been pretty vocal about not including trans athletes in women’s sports. The 67-year-old has expressed her displeasure at the concept time and again. While she has sometimes called it blatant cheating, Navratilova has also given her reasons why it is a bad decision.

The former World No.1 tennis player recently talked about her thought process on the matter in detail. Navratilova pointed out that she is not against trans athletes but them competing in women’s sports is a problem for her.

So we are not against trans athletes. We are for women athletes to compete in as level a playing field as possible. This means the males, who now identify as women, should compete in a male category. And women who identify as men but don’t take testosterone can compete as women. Because there is still no advantage physically over other women athletes. That’s all that’s about.
Martina Navratilova said to New York magazine.

It is worth mentioning that Martina Navratilova stood by Renee Richards who was also a trans athlete. However, Navratilova justified her decision saying that she supported Richards because she was one off and did not dominate the tour.
