Last year’s runner-up and 7th seeded Daria Kasatkina starts against Elena Rybakina while Veronika Kudermetova awaits a qualifier. 4th seed Aryna Sabalenka has a bye in the first round and has luck on her side as her second-round match will be against one of the two yet-to-be-confirmed qualifiers boosting her chances as a title favourite.

2nd seed Paula Badosa has a bye in the first round and will most likely take on Alison Riske in the second round with the American waiting for her first-round opponent to be confirmed through the qualifiers. Former World No. 1 Naomi Osaka returns to action for the first time since the 2022 French Open and will take on Qinwen Zheng in the first round with their winner likely to take on 6th seed Coco Gauff who takes on Anhelina Kalinina in round 1.

2nd Semifinal Prediction: Aryna Sabalenka vs Paula Badosa

Semifinals

Paula Badosa

Amanda and Ons have met only once with the meeting taking place on Clay where Ons was the winner. With Amanda better suited to hardcourts, she could look to settle the scores but given Jabeur’s form throughout this season across surfaces, it’s difficult to see the American move past the Tunisian.

Badosa and Sabalenka could potentially meet for the 4th time with the Spaniard leading the head-to-head 2-1 owing to her wins in both the hardcourt matches they have played so far making her a favourite once against the Belarusian who has had a massive dip in form this season.

Ons Jabeur

Badosa leads Jabeur 3-1 in head-to-head and has a better record on hardcourts this season but has also played more matches on the surface while struggling on clay and grass. As for Ons, she has dazzled on all surfaces equally and given her exploits throughout the season, she will be the favourite to pick up the trophy this year.
