Stefanos Tsitsipas is one of the upcoming talents of the sport who has mettled his place. Greek-Nigerian NBA professional star Giannis Antetokounmpo heaped praises for his compatriots Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari. Both have been quite successful in bringing accolades for the country as well as have made their place in the Top 10 rankings.

Tsitsipas has been quite consistent throughout the year with his performances and has won 2 ATP titles in the year. He has also reached seven finals on the ATP Tour. Whereas Sakkari has a fair share of ups and downs throughout the year. She is yet to win a title but has reached four finals on the WTA Tour.

Antetokounmpo went on to say that the World No 6 is one of the best stars of the sport and that a bright future lies ahead for him. He expressed his fondness towards the 2021 French Open finalist. He said, “He’s a great guy and he’s just starting right now“.

The Greek-Nigerian basketball player went on to call the World No 7 his good friend while applauding her amazing game style. The NBA star further stated that “She’s amazing. She’s like a ball of fire & I love that about her. She plays with a lot of intensity. She’s a good friend of mine & I wish her the best.

Apart from his game, the 2022 Australian Open semifinalist’s anger issues have been in the headlines, and have been reprimanded for his unjustified on-court behavior. He failed to hold his nerve and hence had an outburst of his emotions during his first-round match at the Vienna Open. He yelled towards his box where his father-cum-coach, mother, and trainer were present. He further hurled abuses toward his father and ordered him to leave the arena as soon as possible.

Stefanos Tsitsipas had a shocking exit at the US Open. He lost in two back-to-back ATP finals at the Astana Open and even at the Stockholm Open followed by his elimination in the Round of 16 at the Vienna Open. He will next play at the Paris Masters and end the year with his appearance at the Nitto ATP Finals where he has been qualified for the fourth consecutive time in his career.
