Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios
Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios is as flabbergasted by Novak Djokovic’s 2023 Australian Open performance as the rest of the world. The 35-year-old Serb tennis player sealed his 10th Australian Open title in a dominating victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas. Melbourne Park witnessed Djokovic lift the championship yet again after he won all three sets against an in-form opponent.
Nick Kyrgios took his thoughts to Twitter after the final ended, boasting about the predictions he made a year ago. “Haha, I told you. We created a monster. Well done @DjkerNole. Sat on my couch and enjoyed the entire show,” the Australian tweeted. Nick Kyrgios tried warning Australia last year about Novak’s determination to win the competition.
The Serb tennis star was in the middle of a legal battle last year as he faced risks of deportation after refusing to take the COVID-19 vaccine. “If he’s allowed to play the Australian Open, I don’t want any bar of him. I reckon he’s going to be pi**** off. He’s going to be very determined to play well and stick it to everyone,” Nick said last year.
It looks like Nick Kyrgios predicted things right as Novak Djokovic won his 22nd Grand Slam title in Melbourne Park this Sunday. From home, the Australian tennis player and Novak Djokovic’s friend watched the Serbian’s victory over Tsitsipas. He also predicted that Djokovic might go up to 28 Grand Slams before retiring.

Novak Djokovic was seen in tears after beating Greek opponent Stefanos Tsitsipas in a comfortable match. The 35-year-old came level with Spanish tennis legend Rafael Nadal after sealing the 22nd Grand Slam title of his career. Djokovic confirmed that he wasn’t sure about his form because of a leg injury a few weeks earlier. Despite all the obstacles, the Serb gave an astounding performance to win yet another silverware in Australia.
Djokovic had an amazing run in the Australian Open, as he defeated players like Alex De Minaur, Grigor Dimitrov, Tommy Paul, and Andrey Rublev before reaching the finals of the tournament. How many titles do you think he can secure before finally retiring?
