Novak Djokovic leads Roger Federer in the maximum matches played and won against Top 10-ranked players
Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev have played against each other multiple times in recent few years. Both the players are again playing against each other in the semi-finals round of the Adelaide International 1 tournament. However, this match is significant for the Serb as this is his career’s 348th encounter against a Top 10 player.
With this match he surpassed the record of Roger Federer, who has played the most matches against top-ranked players. The Swiss legend played 347 matches against Top 10 ranked players.
Tennis-stats collecting agency OptaAce has shared this wonderful stat on social media. Also, the post also tells us that the winning percentage of the nine-time Australian Open champion against Top 10 ranked players is 69%, which is greater than the eight-time Wimbledon champion’s 65%.
The list also contains some wonderful tennis players such as Rafael Nadal, Ivan Lendl, and Jimmy Conors. However, no male tennis player in any era has done better against Novak Djokovic against Top 10 ranked players. These stats are testimony to the struggle and the challenges that Novak Djokovic faced in his career to be called ‘one of the greatest players of all time’.

In these 51 matches, Djokovic has won 27 times while losing 23 times, boasting a winning percentage of 54%. The 2019 Wimbledon final is the most memorable encounter between the two. Novak Djokovic defeated Roger Federer 7-6, 1-6, 7-6, 4-6, 13-12 to clinch his career’s 5th Wimbledon title.
The seven-time Wimbledon champion boasts the best winning percentage against the British legend, i.e., 69.4%. Both have met 37 times in their careers.
