After Corentin Moutet performed Novak Djokovic‘s celebration aimed at the Chilean crown after beating their star Nicolas Jarry to reach the semifinals of the Chile Open. Moutet defeated Jarry 7-6(5), 7-6(3) to earn his first semifinal place this season.
French player Moutet showed how talented he was, as he kept frustrating Nicolas Jarry with his serves for most of the game. As the second set was nearing its end, the fans began to boo the Frenchman. When he won the match with a powerful forehand, the boos rang from every side of the audience.

But that didn’t matter to him, as he greeted the turbulent fans with Novak Djokovic’s legendary celebration which made the crowd ride wild. Moutet extended both arms touching his chest to the fans just like Djokovic and then bowed with his palms with a serious look.
During the post-match conference, he said the reception was not good; that despite defeating a Chilean, it doesn’t take away the respect of his well-fought victory.
Moutet said after the match:
It’s unfortunate because there was not a pleasant atmosphere. I liked playing in Chile, in the qualifying, and all my matches, they supported me because I opened my heart, I gave a lot to the people and shared with them. Sport is made for that. My coach and my family are here, I know what I did right or wrong and today I did everything right.Corentin Moutet said
Corentin Moutet revealed Nicolas Jarry called him pathetic
Corentin Moutet revealed that Nicolas Jarry labeled him as ‘pathetic’ when he went to shake hands with the Chilean. The Frenchman admitted that he behaved well throughout the game.

Moutet, suffered boos and jeers from the beginning of the match as the fans were in favor of the countryman. However, after a good win, the proud Moutet was called pathetic by the defeated Jarry.
Speaking about the same, he said:
He said ‘pathetic’, I don’t know why. I behaved well. There were so many people against me, booing, and making noise when I was serving. So I think I didn’t do anything ‘pathetic’. I think I survived well, I played good. You should ask him why he said that. We are not exactly best friends on tour, actually, I don’t know him well.Corentin Moutet explained
When Jarry was asked about the matter, he declined to make any comment. It is worth noting that Moutet struggled to speak during his on-court interview, as the fans kept whistling and booing.
