Novak Djokovic had a superb 2023 season. Even at the twilight of his career, the Serb went on to break plenty of records. Nole won seven titles, including three major Grand Slam events. Djokovic also reached the finals of the Wimbledon where he lost in the finals to Carlos Alcaraz.
Recently in an interview with L’equipe, Nole opened up about a funny incident during the Ryder Cup back in September. In the interview, Nole said,
It took me 1 hour to get ready, with 6-7 people: makeup artists, a hairdresser, a stylist… I was dressed up as the person bringing me room service. We put pillows on my belly to make me bigger. In a nutshell, I was not myself anymore (laughs). And I walked in the team’s room dressed this way, pushing the trolley, ready to serve champagne. When I opened the first bottle, the cork popped, almost hurting my eye before bouncing on the ceiling. I had to look down to not draw attention. At the beginning, no one recognized me.Djokovic via L’equipe
Team Europe captain of the Ryder Cup, Luke Donald requested Djokovic to keep it as a surprise for everyone. However, the journalists had already come to know about this plan and were questioning him about his arrival. To which Nole said he was there only for playing.

Nole teamed up with World’s No.1 golfer with disabilities Kipp Popert, as a part of a team that also included soccer star Gareth Bale. Their team was up against the Formula One driver, Carlos Sainz and G4D golfer Tommaso Perrino.
