It seems there is nothing Novak Djokovic can’t do on the court. And even though he has 24 Grand Slam titles, he knows well that to perform consistently at an event like the Grand Slam tournaments, he has to do the homework.

Djokovic did not break a sweat when he faced France’s Adrian Mannarino in the fourth round of the Australian Open, winning it with a score of 6-0, 6-0, 6-3. After his match, he was asked if he watched any tennis matches or videos. The 36-year-old revealed that even though he has played against a lot of opponents, the work he does with his team before the matches to know more about the players helps him prepare well.

Even though I know the guys, I still have to do my homework because everyone is trying to get better, right? Especially the guys at the top, they want to move the bar at least 1 or 2 percent, or try different things to maybe, yeah, disguise their flaws in the game and improve them, so they're not as exposed in the certain shots.
Djokovic said at the press conference

Djokovic then said he loves to watch tennis matches for fun, revealing he enjoyed Elena Rybakina’s clash against Anna Blinkova in the second round of the women’s singles event, where the latter won 6-4, 4-6, 7-6(22-20) after the longest tie-breaker in the history of women’s Grand Slam events. And about men’s matches, Djokovic said he keeps an eye on the matches of big players to know more about their game.

It just depends. Of course, I have a closer look at my section or part of the draw, or my next opponent, than I would maybe the other side.

Novak Djokovic got past Dino Prizmic after a tough fight

Novak Djokovic sure did his homework before facing Dino Prizmic, the 18-year-old Croatian player in the first round of the Australian Open. That the Serbian would be facing a tough challenge from the teenager in the first round itself, was not anticipated.

After Nole’s victory in the first set, the 178th-ranked Prizmic displayed his incredible athletic skills to challenge the veteran to win the second set. Prizmic continued to challenge the Serbian in the third set, but Djokovic, who was playing for his 11th Australian Open title, could not be easily defeated.

He won the next couple of games against the Croatian to take the set and the fourth set to end the match with the score of 6-2, 6-7(5-7), 6-3, 6-4. The Serbian will face USA’s Taylor Fritz in the quarter-finals on Wednesday (January 24).
