Top-ranked, Novak Djokovic broke several records earlier this month with his victory at the 2023 edition of the US Open. He beat Russian No.1, Daniil Medvedev in a thrilling encounter over three sets. The Serb recently represented his country at the Davis Cup as well. Despite being one of the biggest names ever in tennis with a net worth of $220 million, Djokovic cares deeply about the plight of players who, like him, dedicate their lives to tennis.

The current World No.1 is also the co-founder of the PTPA, which is an agency that aims to prevent discrimination between players by bigger tennis associations to ensure the best possible treatment of tennis players. The Serb founded the agency with his former doubles partner, Vasek Pospisil. The 36-year-old recently set the “bottom line” for the PTPA as several players have already begun pinning their hopes onto the association.

In a short clip posted by the PTPA on the social media platform X, Djokovic cleared the speculations regarding the PTPA as he outlined the mission of the organization and set out the “Bottom line” for the PTPA. The Serbian said, “The bottom line is that if we are all involved in the tennis ecosystem have to collectively create an environment where more tennis players could live out of the sport in the future.” “That’s in the core of PTPA. That’s our biggest mission,” Novak said while concluding his statement.

The PTPA achieved one of its biggest accomplishments last month when it succeeded in convincing the ATP to start a new ‘Baseline’ initiative. The initiative will provide financial assurances to tennis players starting in 2024. Novak and his organization, PTPA have received a huge amount of support from Tennis Fans as well as players alike.

Elena Rybakina’s coach tags PTPA as fans urge Novak Djokovic to bring her into the association

World No.5, Elena Rybakina announced her withdrawal from the ongoing Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo. Despite the player being seeded third, the WTA did not grant Rybakina a ‘performance bye’. At the same time, seeded at No.4 and No.5, Maria Sakkari and Jessica Pegula received the benefit of the bye.

Rybakina’s coach, Stefano Vukov wrote, “Last year we came from a final in Europe and played in Japan 2 days later and performance byes were nowhere to be found. The issue is always the same as communication. This will also apply from Tokyo 500 to Beijing 1000 next week. 4 performance byes will be awarded.”

The marketing is terrible as you can all see Elena qualified weeks ago, and just yesterday @wta decided to post something. We need transparency. All players need to understand what is going on. Stop blaming players for mistakes by the system itself,” he added further, tagging the PTPA. All over the internet, fans urged Novak Djokovic to include tennis players in the PTPA as well.
