Novak Djokovic and Hamad Medjedovic
Novak Djokovic has had a complete turnaround this season. After all that he faced last year, he has emerged as a phoenix. He once again proved his mettle Down Under winning the Tour title in Adelaide followed by the 2023 Australian Open. The win in Melbourne Park tied him with Rafael Nadal in the top spot with 22 Majors each.
He also reclaimed the World No. 1 spot and is now just a week away from breaking Steffi Graf‘s record. The German great holds the distinction of spending most weeks at the top with 377 total weeks. Djokovic is on course to break it and add another golden chapter to his legacy.
While his work off the court is also as big as his work on the court, Serbian youngster Hamad Medjedovic continues to give more insights into the subject. Medjedovic had received help from Djokovic and was made a student of his Academy. The young gun is currently in Chennai for the Challenger and gave further details on the off-court personality of the Serb.
“I mean, I said yesterday, you can learn from Novak anything, you know, just so many things that you can just learn from watching him alone. Learn a lot. But as I said yesterday, [Novak Djokovic] is the most disciplined guy I’ve ever met. And this is something that I admire the most about him.
“You know, on and off the court, the guy is doing absolutely everything that he can for his career. Starting with sleeping, you know, eating, anything. There’s so many things. His full day is just all about tennis, you know, not practicing but doing all the stuff to get better on the court,” said Medjedovic speaking with the press.

Hamad Medjedovic is working his way to becoming a Tour regular. With a training facility available at Novak Djokovic’s Academy for him, the young gun once again talked about the advice from the 22-time Major winner. Medjedovic further talked about how he receives regular tips and advice from Djokovic.
“I’ve talked about it many times, but Novak helped me a lot through my career. We met a couple of years ago. He helped me in every possible way of my career. He’s there for me, you know, he’s giving me a lot of advice, I train at his Center at Belgrade and, you know, it helps a lot.
“Not really, you know, not about the goals to set for the ranking or something. It’s about, he wants me to work on myself, on my physical and mental game. You know, he tells me that I should be more focused on this than on the ranking. And yeah, I’m trying to listen it as much as I can,” added Medjedovic.
