Novak Djokovic pays EMOTIONAL homage to the children killed in mass shooting in Belgrade

Novak Djokovic is emotionally shaken by the mass shooting that happened in a Belgrade school on 3rd May 2023, killing eight people. A teenager opened fire at his own school killing a security guard and seven fellow students. Another seven were injured, a teacher and six students, two of them are supposed to be in critical condition. Novak Djokovic who is a pride of Serbia used his Instagram to show his distress due to the mass killing.
Mass shootings are a very rare occurrence in Serbia. This incident has shaken the entire country and also its best tennis player and a Samaritan Novak Djokovic. Novak posted heartfelt stories on his Instagram account. He posted images of the candlelight vigils held for the deceased. He also posted an image where the deceased is in heaven but looking down at a dark and gloomy image of Belgrade. Even his foundation posted a heartwarming note for the deceased and marked the day 3rd May 2023 in black.
A religious Christian, Novak Djokovic put up a story that leads to a prayer for the deceased and a recovery prayer for the ones injured. This was a truly shocking event for Serbia and the world. The shooter, Kosta Kecmanovic, is a 13-year-old student at the Vladislav Ribnikar school. Serbian law doesn’t allow children below 14 to be tried for criminal offenses. But seeing the severity of this incident and the age of the killer is 13, the law will be modified to try children above 12 years.

Like Novak Djokovic, other Serbian players also put out heartwarming messages
Not just Novak Djokovic, but other active players also put out their tributes for those killed in the gut-wrenching murder. Dusan Lajovic who has been in great form this clay season posted a photo of a candle marking the 3rd of May 2023 as a black day for Belgrade. World no 79, Filip Krajinovic also posted the same picture as Lajovic, which marks 3rd May as one of the darkest in Serbian recent history.
Amongst retired Serbian tennis players, Janko Tipsarević also played his respect to the families of the deceased. Not just Serbia the entire world is completely shocked by this event. Praying for the departed souls and the recovery of the injured students and teachers.
