Besides the video, Nole also shared a heartfelt message for his wife and team. As the 2023 season came to an end, it seemed like it was his way of thanking his wife, mother, and support staff for their constant support.
In the caption of the Instagram video, Djokovic wrote,
What amazing season this has been. Forever grateful to my wife for being the best mother I could ask for to kids, while I was making history of the sport. Her support and love that I have been feeling from my family made this historic season possible. I would like to congratulate and thank my team for their dedication and efforts. Another very successful year for the team in the books. We will remember this one forever. So many memorable moments that sent chills down our spine.
Djokovic will next be featuring in the Australian Open in the Melbourne Park. The competition will be looked forward to by the entire tennis world. This is because Nole’s old foe and career-long rival Rafael Nadal is also set to make his return at the Australian Open scheduled in January. Fans would be hoping that they get to witness this clash of titans between the two absolute veterans of the sport.
A look back at the 2023 season of Novak Djokovic
Novak Djokovic had an amazing 2023 season. Even at the twilight of his career, Nole has not only competed but also won accolades during the season.
Djokovic won three of the four Majors during the season. Firstly, the Australian Open where Nole defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in the finals, and then the French Open where Nole defeated Casper Ruud in the finals.
Finally, the US Open, where the Serb, defeated Daniil Medvedev in the finals of the tournament. Apart from these, Nole also reached the Wimbledon finals, where he lost to Carlos Alcaraz and won the ATP Tour Finals by defeating Jannik Sinner in the finals.
Nole couldn’t finish the season as he would have liked by winning the Davis Cup. Courtesy of Sinner and his team Italy’s performances in the semi-finals, they eliminated Nole and Serbia from the tournament.
However, with the 2024 season about to begin, Nole would be looking to keep the same momentum going in the next season as well. With the Paris Olympics around the corner, his focus would be on getting an Olympic gold, which is the only thing missing from his illustrious trophy cabinet.
