Novak Djokovic has taunted Carlos Alcaraz and his camp for invading his privacy during one of his training sessions. Alcaraz’s father was spotted recording instances of Djokovic’s training session, which has put the Serbian in an uncomfortable situation.

Generally, the Aorangi training complex is restricted to the public. However, at times, players are often seen practicing side by side, which was the case with Alcaraz and Djokovic on Monday. According to the sources present near the practice courts, the Spaniard’s father closely followed Djokovic’s training session.

Novak Djokovic raised the issue of having some privacy while training. He stated that it gives him the liberty to communicate freely with his team, and not fear anyone looking over his shoulder.

“That’s the situation we are all in, the circumstances are such that we don’t have privacy in training, although sometimes I would like to have more privacy. Then it gives me more opportunities to try some things, to communicate more clearly with my team. The fact is that you are not completely relaxed in training. You know your rivals are there, you know everyone is looking over your shoulder at what’s going on, what you’re working on. Every shot is measured, evaluated and assessed,” said Djokovic, according to b92.

Djokovic stated that his potential matchup with Carlos Alcaraz in the Wimbledon finals could be affected. He believes that the Spaniard’s camp has additional information on his preparations, given that they were able to watch him practice closely.

The second seed added that he does not want to give any impression to his rivals about his physical and mental state before going into the match. He believes that his practice sessions are as important as the final match up.

“That, through some analysis, affects the eventual meeting with Alcaraz or anyone tomorrow. Concentration is required. For me, training is like a match. I bring that intensity to training as well. Sometimes the atmosphere is more casual if I’m feeling better, more tense if I’m feeling bad. The bottom line is that you don’t want to give your rivals the impression that you’re weak, that you’re nervous… The fact is that we are all very focused,” said Djokovic.

Djokovic got the better of Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinals, as he sets up a semifinal date with Jannik Sinner. The Serbian came back from a set down to defeat the Russian, who put on a valiant fight. The 36-year-old remains well on course to script history and claim a record-equaling eighth Wimbledon title.
