On Nike’s 50th anniversary, Drake pays tribute to the brand and Serena Williams as one of its greatest ambassadors

The ‘Queen of Tennis’ Serena Williams, recently was given a shoutout by one the most eccentric hip-hop artists’ Drake, who on Nike’s 50th brand anniversary payed tribute to the company’s legacy that has been formulated over the years.
In a live concert by the Canadian star, he paid homage to the brand by wearing one-of-its-kind merchandise and while flashing the same onto his fans, he was quoted saying “We have Cristiano Ronaldo, Serena Williams, Michael Jordan, at Reebok they have Tyga.”

Serena Williams has fortified herself in a legacy where every budding tennis individual looks at her as their role model and hopes to achieve the same she did in her astonishingly remarkable career. The popular hip-hop sensation Drake is no less. He is regarded as one of the greatest artists ever to make his way to the top of Billboard charts time and again.
Drake popularly acclaimed as ‘Drizzy’ payed his respects to his Nike comrade Serena which heeded the crowd in his praise. Williams, recently after her performance at the US Open retired from tennis to look after her daughter and become a full-time capitalist venture.
Williams in her last ever professional tennis matches had her hopes crushed of adding one last Grand Slam title to her mantle when she lost third round of the Flushing championship to Ajla Tomljanovic with a score of 7-5, 6-7(4), 6-1. Her defeat saw the rise to many emotional outbreaks at the stadium and worldwide and the tennis icon on her parting away could be seen crying while giving a post-match on-court interview.
The former world No. 1 who turned pro when she was 14 has 23 Grand Slams titles added to her legacy, which are the most by any player in the open era, and is regarded as one of the best female athletes in tennis. During her final appearances in New York, she was seen flashing with diamond-fitted Nike apparel which turned many heads both in favor and against the extravagant taste.
