Martina Navratilova is one of the greatest players of all time and has a combined total of 59 major titles which is the most by any player in the Open era. She has won 18 Grand Slam singles titles, 31 Grand Slam women’s doubles titles, and 10 Grand Slam mixed doubles titles in her illustrious career which lasted for more than three decades.

The former World number one played her last match at the US Open in 2006 winning the title in the mixed doubles category as her first title was at the French Open in 1974 in the mixed doubles category. She went on to become the oldest ever champion after she won in 2006 breaking her own record.

Martina Navratilova slammed the famous journalist and host Tucker Carlson over his ignorant and racist remarks on the rich Indian history and culture, especially with respect to the architectural aspect of the country. Carlson questioned the credibility of India after the British rule ended and stated that the best of Indian architecture has been due to the contribution and ideas of the Britishers.

Through her post on social media, Navratilova advised Carlson to get his facts checked by reading the book called ‘Inglorious Empire‘ by Shashi Tharoor who is an Indian politician, and diplomat as the book depicts the effects of British colonial rule on India.

The former world number one has never denied her sexual orientation and has actively been upfront with her views by sharing her opinions on various matters on the social media platform on issues related to rights and opportunities for transgenders. She has also been on the receiving end for her strong and unfiltered views and has also often been criticized for her actions.
