The Tunisian player recently won the WTA 500 event by beating Belinda Bencic in the final 7-6 (8/6), 6-4. This is the first time in her career that she was able to win this competition. This is also her first title of the season. Hence, she was in a playful mood.
In a post-match interview, when she was asked about her wish to do a ‘romantic’ photoshoot with Ryan Gosling. Ons Jabeur took some time to think before giving a quirky reply which led the audience and the host to burst into laughter. The Tennis Letter shared an excerpt of this interview on social media.

Ons Jabeur looked spectacular during the course of the Charleston Open

The Tunisian tennis professional made it to the final of the Grand Slam events twice last season, i.e. the Wimbledon and the US Open. However, on both the occasions she lost at the last hurdle. This year has been difficult for her. She was facing some tough challenges on the court and off it too.
Ons Jabeur had to exit from the Australian Open early and had missed out on the Middle East leg of the season. She did return at Sunshine Doubles but could not do much. But as the clay swing of the season begins, the current World No.4 came back to form.
She faced many challenges during the course of this tournament, but she was able to counter them with ease. She faced Lesia Tsurenko as her first-round opponent. Jabeur followed it up with victories against Caroline Dolehide, Anna Kalinskaya, Daria Kasatkina and finally Belinda Bencic to clinch the title.
It is expected that Ons Jabeur, with her renewed confidence and vigor, will be able to take on the best in the upcoming tournaments on clay and grass. She would also like to improve her record in the French Open, where she is yet to advance beyond the fourth round.
