“She inspires me,” Paula Badosa calls Aryna Sabalenka her ‘closest friend’ following their doubles win at World Tennis League
Paula Badosa and Aryna Sabalenka share an unexpectedly close bond at the ongoing World Tennis League.

Spanish tennis player Paula Badosa is paired with World No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka in the same team for the World Tennis League in Dubai, which commenced on December 21st. The two friends are on the same team for the exhibition event in Abu Dhabi.
Following their win in the double category against Team Eagle, Stefanos Tsitsipas’s girlfriend, Paula Badosa expressed her level of friendship with her partner, Aryna Sabalenka.

The two close friends are together in Team Kites, and they recently registered their first victory in the double’s category, defeating Team Eagle’s Mirra Andreeva and Sofia Kenin in straight sets by 6-3, 6-3. The other two members of their team are Stefanos Tsitsipas and Grigor Dimitrov.
Following their victory, the Spanish spoke a few words on their chemistry and friendship and also elaborated as to how she considers the Belarusian to be one of her closest friends on the tour.
Despite their frequent on-court clashes against each other, the two maintain a very close personal bond, as is evident from the time they spend together and post about it on their respective social media handles.

The World No. 2 is also of the same feeling regarding her friendship with the Spaniard. Although the two have faced each other numerous times on the court, eyeing the same trophy, they have developed a good bond off the court as well.
The Belarusian has also gone to the extent of calling her a soulmate and has expressed her happiness and surprise at finding one on tour who is simultaneously competing for the same titles as her.
This time, the two friends are on the same team in the World Tennis League and will aim to play their best tennis to win this year-end tournament in Abu Dhabi. They will later be back competing at the next year’s Australian Open against each other.
