Paula Badosa had the 2022 season with many twists and turns. She started her season with a victory at the Sydney Tennis Classic tournament. Here she defeated Barbora Krejcikova. This was her career’s third title. At the Australian Open, however, she could not advance beyond the fourth round losing to Madison Keys.

She had to retire from the French Open due to an unfortunate calf injury in the third round. In Wimbledon, she was knocked out by Simona Halep in the fourth round. Also, in the US Open, she was defeated by Petra Martic in the second round.

The Spanish tennis player would be looking to improve her performance this season. She did get great starts in the Grand Slams, however, she could not capitalize on them. She lost on important occasions and as a result of which could not advance into the later stages of the tournaments.

The 25-year-old also needs to improve her fitness. She would love to perform well in the Grand Slam tournaments. Her fans would love to see her win important tournaments in the 2023 season. Probably, this could be the year she can win the first Grand Slam title of her career.

She is currently ranked World No.13 in the WTA rankings. However, she is the highest-ranked female Spanish player in the world. To win a Grand Slam title she has to break the domination of the World No.1 Iga Swiatek. Her good friend Aryna Sabalenka also ranks higher than her. She has to find a way to win matches against the top seeds.

This year she showed that she has got potential to beat the best players on the tour. She propelled herself to World No.4 but later slipped to finish the year as World No.13. Consistency is the key! She can take inspiration from his team-mate, Novak Djokovic.
