A Swiss activist group, Campax, has petitioned Roger Federer’s co-owned sportswear company, On, demanding that the company’s seamstresses in Vietnam be paid fair wages. According to Sportico, the tennis legend’s 3% stake in the company was worth around $238 million in 2021.

After a publication by K-Tipp that claimed that On pays Vietnamese workers a meager wage, Campax has since demanded wage fairness and transparency in the company’s production chain. Compax describes itself as the ‘largest Swiss citizen movement.’

In a recent video shared on Campax’s social media channels, a man seated at a sewing machine working while wearing a mask of Federer with fake blood on it was seen.

On was forced to release a press release stating that they have always been fair with their wages.

The topic of wages is important to us because wages have a significant impact on both the quality of life of employees and the business development of companies. That's why it is regularly examined and reviewed. We routinely monitor our suppliers through independent third-party audits, direct discussions, and internal reviews to ensure they meet our requirements.
On said via Express.co

Last year, when the claims of On workers being paid unfairly in Asia were made public, the company’s spokesperson told Express Sport that On pays its Vietnamese employees considerably more than the legal minimum wage.

We are constantly evaluating our Supplier Code of Conduct and aim to set up fair wages and economic security for the workers with our leading suppliers in Asia.
