Stefanos Tsitsipas is the 3rd seed and will be playing at Wimbledon 2022 after having a decent run in the ongoing grass season

The Greek player was the last man standing in the Mallorca Open where he defeated Spaniard, Roberto Bautista Agut in a 3 set thriller. The score line of the match was 6-4, 3-6, 7-6. He will be hoping to continue the momentum in the Wimbledon as well.

Tsitsipas made it to the semi finals in the grand slam of Australian Open. The world number 4 lost to the current world number 2, Daniil Medvedev in four sets with the score line of 7-6, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1. However, Tsitsipas faltered in the 4th round in the French Open 2022 losing to 19 year old, Holger Rune in 4 sets. The score line of the match was 7-5, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

The young gun has a tendency to perform well in the pressure situations and but his inability to capitalize on grass may cause a hindrance for him.

Tsitsipas had a forgettable outing in the Wimbledon 2021 as he lost to American, Frances Tiafoe in straight sets. The score line of the match was 6-4, 6-4, 6-3. It will be interesting to see how he performs here in Wimbledon 2022.

Tough Road Ahead For Tsitsipas

Stefanos Tsitsipas is seeded 3rd in the Wimbledon and has a tough road ahead of himself. He will meet qualifier, Alexander Ritschard in the first round. In the second round, the Greek is most likely to clash with Spamiard, Roberto Carballes Baena or Australian, Jordan Thompson.

In the 3rd round, Stefanos is most likely to set up a clash with the giant killer, Nick Kyrgios or in form Serbian, Filip Krajinovic. The Greek is likely to meet with either 2021 Wimbledon Semi Finalist, Denis Shapovalov or world number 20, Roberto Bautista Agut in the fourth round of the French Open 2022.

If the world number 6 manages to cross the above hurdles, then he is most likely to play against the current world number Wimbledon 2021 finalist, Matteo Berrettini in the quarter finals. The potential semi final fixture for Tsitsipas would be against 22 time grand slam champion, Rafael Nadal or 3 time grand slam champion, Andy Murray. If everything goes on course for the 23 year old, he can meet either 20 time grand slam, Novak Djokovic or 19 year old, Carlos Alcaraz or 21 time grand slam champion, Rafael Nadal or 2021 Wimbledon Semi Finalist, Hubert Hurkacz.
