“I have me-time and I really take my time” Serena Williams talks how driving help her to focus and getaway from monotonous life

Tennis icon Serena Williams is enjoying her retired life well and has been exploring all those fun-filled activities for which she did not have time before, due to her professional commitments. She is spending more time with her family and her 5-years old daughter Olympia.
That’s not all, the former American tennis professional is busy promoting her new company Serena Ventures, clothing and jewelry brands. She is also trying her hands at different brand endorsements and has been indulging in numerous interviews reminiscing about her career. However, the most important excursion that she enjoys is spending some time alone and taking long trips just to keep herself focused on her goals.
As per the popular personality herself, driving is a leisure excursion and she always associates it with good memories.
“Driving has always been something that I associate good memories with because it was so much family time. I’m always trying to push my husband to be like, let’s do road trips. It has so many great memories tied to it,” she acknowledged.
“I am the kind of person that when I drive, I look forward to it. I am such a hands-on mom. I’m always with Olympia and I’m always doing work, but when I’m in the car, I can’t do work. I have me-time and I really take my time. I love the quiet, the focus,” she said in an interview.
Recalling a few wholesome childhood memories with her dad, the tennis professional further added, “We used to take so many road trips when we were younger with my dad,” she recalled. “We drove to Florida from California. We drove to the Grand Canyon. We would always drive to Mexico because we lived in southern California and we would see different cultures.”
Serena Williams also gave the impression of her immense love for cars. She is a fan of the Lincoln Navigator model. She is also the brand ambassador of Lincoln Motor Company, since 2018.
Taking passionately about her ideal car which she would love to drive, she noted, “I would stick to vegan leathers. I like strong, bold colors. I like blacks and to see the stitching through it. Pink stitching would be nice. I definitely want something that is less cozy and more that keeps me alert,”
Serena Williams, at 41 years of age is trying to find new passions for herself and living the retired life she always dreamt of.

Serena Williams retired this year after playing her last match against Ajla Tomjanovic in the third round of the US Open 2022. Here, she lost against the Australian 5-7, 7-6, 6-1. She was given a warm and emotional farewell after this match.
She also did not play much in this season as well as the previous season before announcing her sudden retirement from the sport. But this has not dented her marketing appeal a bit. She minted a whopping $35 million in 2022 and according to Highest-Paid Female Athletes 2022 list, she is just behind 4-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka, who earned $52 million in 2022 despite playing few matches on the court. Emma Raducanu, World No.1 Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, 2022 Australian Open champion Ashleigh Barty and Leylah Annie Fernandez are also on the list and make up the Top 10.
Serena Williams is an inspiration to millions of young girls and athletes all around the world. Her career is a celebration and now she has the time to enjoy the fruits of her hard work.
