Emma Raducanu is one of the youngest and most talented players on the WTA tour. After winning the US Open in 2021, there have been high expectations from her.

In the recent past though, she has not played well according to her talents and abilities. Being an underdog, she has become the crowd’s favorite. But the year 2022 had been a dismal year for her. After a set of bad performances at the tournaments, Raducanu and Dmitry Tursunov decided to part ways. He will no longer be associated with the player’s team.

Andrew Richardson, Nigel Sears, Torben Beltz, and now. List of coaches that have left Raducanu post her US Open victory in 2021 is increasing. James Gray, one of the eminent sports journalists broke the story on Twitter.

“Emma Raducanu will have a new coach next season. Dmitry Tursunov walking away from the role after weighing up his options,” he tweeted. “British No 1 Raducanu is doing some pre-season work with fitness trainer Jez Green, who has previously worked with Andy Murray and Alexander Zverev.”

After the high of 2021, her graph has seen only a downward slide. She has failed to advance to the Third Round of the Australian Open. She also performed miserably at the French Open and Wimbledon. In the recently concluded US Open, the young British player crashed out in the first round itself.

In other tournaments on the WTA tour too, she failed to leave her mark. In the recent few months, she has taken on many challenging opponents and has underperformed.

Emma Raducanu is recovering from a wrist injury. She is working with trainer Jez Green to improve her physical fitness. In the run-up to the 2023 season, the 2021 US Open Champion wants to be physically fit and get in better shape.

Raducanu will be seen next in Glasgow where she will represent Team Great Britain in the Billie Jean King Cup.
