Roger Federer has retired from professional tennis. He recently retired after playing his last match with his old rival Rafael Nadal as doubles pair for Team Europe against the all-American pair of Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe, who represented Team World in the 2022 Laver Cup in September. However, this has not dented his appeal a bit.

The Swiss legend is the darling of advertisers and marketers. Many companies can spend lots of money to make him the face of their advertisement campaign. He has multi-year contracts with big brands such as Credit Suisse, Rolex, and Uniqlo. He has also got an equity stake in On (a Swiss sports shoes and equipment manufacturer).

All these endorsement deals and many other associations have helped him mint a whopping $90 million this year. Naomi Osaka, who is the highest-paid female tennis player on the list takes the second spot with yearly earnings of $56.2 million. The 23-time Grand Slam champion, Serena Williams, who too retired this year, has earned $35.1 million and took the third rank.

Roger Federer’s old rival Rafael Nadal is fourth on the list as he earned $31.4 million with his both on-court endeavors and endorsement deals. Novak Djokovic ranks No.1 on the list of players with the highest earnings from prize money, however, on this list, he is ranked fifth with $27.1 million. The 2021 US Open women’s singles winner Emma Raducanu, 2021 US Open men’s singles winner Daniil Medvedev, Kei Nishikori, Venus Williams, and current World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz are also on this list of Highest-paid tennis players of 2022.
