The women’s singles final at the 2023 US Open was played on Saturday, and it was a great spectacle for the fans. 19-year-old Coco Gauff toppled World No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka in a three-set match and lifted her maiden Grand Slam title. While the fans enjoyed every bit of the match, another interesting visual became a topic of discussion on social media. As former American ace Martina Navratilova was seen sitting around Maria Sharapova, fans went bonkers on social media.

The reason was that Navratilova had thrashed Sharapova on social media after an account kept the Russian in the same bracket as Serena Williams, Steffanie Graf, and Navratilova herself. As the account sought people’s opinions on who is the best female tennis player of all time among the four former players, the Czech-American lost her cool.

Martina Navratilova called Maria’s inclusion on the list a joke, as she wrote, “What a joke- I mean, Maria? Really? Don’t even bother voting…”. Now, a few days later, the two former players were seen sitting beside each other while Gauff and Sabalenka took on each other at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.
