The Russian-born French tennis player, Varvara Gracheva, was recently involved in a candid chat with We Love Tennis Magazine. The 23-year-old shared her opinion on the status of women’s tennis in this day and age where female tennis is hiding under the shadow of men’s tennis.
World No. 43 talked about the challenges the WTA faces with respect to men’s tennis but also seemed positive as she supported the governing bodies for attempting to uplift the status of women’s tennis.

The Russian-turned-French tennis player was a guest celebrity in We Love Tennis Magazine’s 87th issue and was asked a few questions regarding the state of women’s tennis, in her opinion.
While she acknowledged the challenges at hand, she also stated how it must have been an opportunity rather than a burden. She is hopeful and positive that the WTA is working in the right direction to promote its players on a wider spectrum.

A look at the career of Varvara Gracheva so far
Varvara Gracheva is a Russian-born French tennis player who has won seven singles titles on the ITF circuit so far, along with reaching a career-high ranking of 41 in August earlier this year. She played her first main draw match at a WTA event in the 2019 Ladies Open in Lausanne, where she qualified by defeating Julia Grabher in the final round.
Her highest achievement remains reaching the 3rd round of the French Open in 2021, while also reaching the semi-finals of the Chicago Women’s Open for the first time in her career.
This year as well, she reached the 3rd round of the Australian Open for the first time as she defeated the 8th seed, Darai Kasatkina, thereby securing her first top-10 win as well.
