“Want to be associated with tennis somehow,” Serena Williams instigates coaching rumors post retirement from the sport

23-time grand slam champion Serena Williams hung her boots from the sport that she dearly loves a couple of weeks at the US Open. Serena had announced that she would be retiring from tennis after the US Open. And with her third-round loss at Flushing Meadows to Australian Ajla Tomljanovic, Serena’s illustrious career was over.

While Serena has officially retired from the sport, she is pretty active on social grounds and is often seen featuring in various TV shows or interviews. She talks about her life after retirement, how she embraces motherhood, her businesses, and of course, tennis. The sport has given so much to her and she never shies away from speaking about it and acknowledging this fact.

Recently, talking on Good Morning America, Serena spoke about tennis and how she sees herself being associated with the sport even after her retirement. While Serena keeps on dropping bombs that she might come out of retirement, she has never clearly stated her intentions but has made it pretty clear that she wants to be associated with tennis in some way. She also intends to give back to the sport that has given so much to her.

‘It’s[Tennis] been such a light in my life that I definitely want something involved in that’: Serena Williams

Serena said that she hasn’t decided in what capacities she wants to be involved with tennis but it is pretty clear that sooner or later, she will be back; either as a coach, a commentator, or something else.

“I feel like tennis has given me so much and there’s no way I don’t wanna be involved in tennis somehow in the future. I don’t know what that involvement is yet but I do know that I love the sport so much, I love everything about it. It’s been such a light in my life that I definitely want something involved in that,” Serena said.
