Coco Gauff had a superb 2022 season. She won 2 doubles WTA 1000 titles this season with her partner Jessica Pegula. She started her season poorly by losing to Wang Qiang in the first round of the Australian Open.

However, she found her rhythm back to reach the quarter-finals of the Qatar Open, defeating Shelby Rogers, Caroline Garcia, and Paula Badosa on the way. But in the doubles event of the Qatar Open, she won with Jessica Pegula.

She reached the final of both the singles and doubles of the French Open. However, she could not win either of the Championship matches. But her performance earned her spot in the Top 15 in singles and Top 5 in doubles of the WTA rankings. She could not do much at Wimbledon as she was knocked out in the third round by Amanda Anisimova. However, her performance helped her to rank as World No.11. She reached the quarter-finals round of the Canadian Open defeating Aryna Sabalenka but lost to Simona Halep.

Gauff and Pegula achieved the top spot in the WTA doubles rankings after winning the Canadian Open doubles title. Her performance at US Open helped her to breach into the Top 10 of the WTA rankings for the first time in her career.

She qualified for the WTA Finals 2022 in both the singles and doubles events. Although, she could not do much in this tournament as she lost all of her Group stage matches. However, her performances throughout the year must have given her new confidence.
