Matteo Berrettini defeated Botic van de Zandschulp in two sets to reach the final of the ATP 500 Queen’s tournament for the second year in a row. The Italian played a fantastic match and dealt with the weather delay in the second set well and as expected.

However, during his on-court interview following his 6-4, 6-3 semifinal victory over the Dutch, the 26-year-old received an unexpected marriage proposal from one of his tournament fans.

Matteo Berrettini received a quirky proposal from a fan in the crowd while giving his on-court interview after his victory. “Matteo, will you marry me?” screamed a female fan, eliciting a roar of amusement from the audience. The World No. 10 was amused by the remark and laughed about it, saying, “Let me think about it.”

The Italian stallion has won 19 of his last 20 grass-court matches, with his only defeat coming in last year’s Wimbledon final to Novak Djokovic. He will face Filip Krajinovic of Serbia in the final on Sunday, who defeated two-time champion Marin Cilic 6-3 6-3. Until this week, Krajinovic had never won a tour match on grass.
