Novak Djokovic, is the reigning Wimbledon champion and a record holder for spending most weeks at the No.1 spot in the ATP rankings. The Serbian is one of only three male tennis players to have held all four Slam crowns at the same time, which he shared in the 2015 and the 2016 seasons. He narrowly missed a calendar-year Grand Slam with a loss in the 2021 U.S. Open final, an honour that has never been achieved by any male player since Rod Laver achieved it in 1969.
The Serb is ready for the hard court season in North America, but the possibility of whether he would be playing in the coming months, says something else. The three-time US Open champion’s participation in the upcoming tournaments in Canada and USA lies in the hands of the government authorities. Canadian ministers have already issued advice that no such exemptions be given for the Serb who is unvaccinated. The picture in the US is also very complicated, and at this point, no one can say whether he would be able to play this year in the region.

The 3-time US Open title holder has been getting all kinds of support from all over the globe. Novak who continues to remain doubtful to participate in the US Open is already a topic of discussion among US politicians, Celebrities as well as the general public.
Recently, a kid from Tampa, Florida sent a cute voice note in support of the Serb, the video of which has become viral on social media as well. The kid was heard asking a junior tennis player in the park, “Do you have Djokovic’s phone number?“, to which the other person said no, and told him there’s another way you can send him your message (through voice note on Instagram), then the kid went on to record his message, “Hi Djokovic, I love you so much and I’m from Tampa, Florida. I’ll be looking for you in the US Open”.
