“Biden should let Djokovic play,” Renowned British politician demands US government curb the vaccination mandate to let Novak Djokovic play the US Open

Novak Djokovic has been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately. He has had to suffer a lot due to his unvaccinated status this season and it looks like his suffering is only going to escalate going forward. He missed the Australian Open earlier this year due to his unvaccinated status and was deported from the country after a 10-day tussle with the Australian government and judiciary.

He then wasn’t able to defend his French Open title either and lost to Rafael Nadal in the quarterfinals at Roland Garros. But he bounced back a couple of weeks later to win his 7th Wimbledon title and his 21st major title. As a result of this, he overtook Roger Federer for the first time in his career on the all-time list.

But as things stand, Djokovic won’t be able to equal Rafael Nadal’s record of 22 major titles this year as he is currently banned from entering the USA due to his vaccination status. The USA has a very strict vaccine policy where no unvaccinated foreigner is allowed to enter the country. There has been a lot of backlash from all over the world to let Djokovic play the US Open as Covid cases have significantly gone down worldwide.

International support emerges for Novak Djokovic

Recently, a former member of the European Parliament, Rupert Lowe came out in Djokovic’s support and urged US President Joe Biden to allow Djokovic to play in the USA. Biden recently tested positive for Covid for the third time despite taking the Covid vaccine 4 times. Lowe pointed out that Biden’s recent experience proves that vaccines do nothing to stop the Covid virus.

He told Biden to let go of stupid rules for respect Djokovic’s decision to not take the Covid vaccine.

“Biden should let Djokovic play. Surely his own experience proves that the vaccines do basically nothing to stop people from catching/spreading the virus? Ditch the crazy rules for Djokovic and everybody else who took the decision not to get the jab,” he wrote on Twitter.
