This was Djokovic’s third comeback from two sets down in the last 13 months and in the process, he has reached his 43rd grand slam semifinal. Only Roger Federer with 46 grand slam semifinals has played more last 4 matches at majors than Djokovic in men’s tennis.

Although Djokovic isn’t the most loved tennis player in the world, he definitely has shown great sportsmanship over the years. He is as gracious as ever in defeats and always has a big smile on his face when he speaks about his opponents. In the quarterfinal match against Sinner too, there was one moment when Djokovic showed amazing sportsmanship.

Djokovic was running away with the fourth set and had a double break’s advantage and was serving for the fourth set at 5-2. Sinner, who was trying his best to get a break back, slipped on the court while approaching the net. He fell on the lush green grass and held his ankle in pain. Djokovic was quick enough to jump over the net and aid his fallen opponent.
