Rafael Nadal gets a heartbreaking end to his title defense

Spanish tennis star Rafael Nadal had a heartbreak at the 2023 Australian Open. The defending champion bowed out of the tournament after his unexpected second-round exit against Mackenzie McDonald in straight sets. Before the start of the match, Nadal was the overwhelming favorite but in the end, he seemed to be totally out of luck.
This is the 22-time major champion’s earliest exit in a Grand Slam since he lost in the first round of the 2016 Australian Open. During the match, Nadal was seen going through some trouble with his hip and was clearly not in prime form. The closed roof in Rod Laver Arena made the matter worse for Nadal.
The exit of the champion star left many of his fans in tears. Some of his critics also put a question mark on his tennis future. But no one except Nadal knows the path ahead and the fans may have to wait until the dust settles.
