Which is Novak Djokovic’s favorite football club?
Novak Djokovic supports AC Milan football club
Novak Djokovic has always been a football fan. His father is a former professional football player and played for the Serbian national football team. Hence, it is no surprise that Novak Djokovic has always supported the Serbian football team.
He also helped the Serbian team to fly to Qatar for their group matches at Qatar. He follows football closely. The Serbian also recalled that he had the desire to become a footballer as a kid. However, he chose to play tennis instead.
“When I was a kid, I always wanted to play football. Of course, desire for tennis was stronger. So I started playing tennis. I always watched football games at home. Wherever I go, I follow football. This is one of my favourite sports,” he said.
The 21-time Grand Slam champion’s photographs with Serbian footballers have surfaced on social media. Besides the Serbian national football team supports the Italian club AC Milan.
“I’m a big fan of Milan and I’ll always be. For me, football is second only [to] tennis. My father was a professional footballer and at home, we always watch the Rossoneri’s games with great interest,” he continued. Another reason for the massive support of Novak Djokovic for the Italian giants may be because of his dear friend Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
“I am friends with Zlatan Ibrahimovic. We often talked about my situation in Australia. He also supported me publicly, which I really appreciate. I’m a Milan fan and we hope to win the Scudetto this year,” he further added.
Which clubs do the Big Three- Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Andy Murray support?
While Novak Djokovic is an AC Milan fan, his friends and rivals also support one club or another. Roger Federer is a big fan of the Swiss club FC Basel.
“The FCB was my club as a kid, and it is still today,” the 20-time Grand Slam champion had said in 2018 when the Swiss legend was invited by the club for their 125th anniversary. The Swiss legend’s old rival Rafael Nadal is a big fan of the Spanish giants Real Madrid. This is contrary to what everyone expects. His uncle Miguel Angel Nadal is a former professional football player and is considered an FC Barcelona legend, the arch-rival of Real Madrid in La Liga. However, the 22-time Grand Slam champion has always maintained that he admires Los Blancos.
“Despite adoring my uncle, I have always been and always will be a Real Madrid fan. Why? Simple. Because my father is,” he said. Andy Murray supports the Scottish club Hibernian. The reason for it is simple. His grandfather Roy Erskine used to play for the club.
