Rafael Nadal is undoubtedly one of the most successful and loved male tennis players of all time. He with Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic dominated male tennis for the past decade and a half and entertained the tennis community with their iconic on-court rivalry.

Racking up over 17 million followers on Instagram alone, he is one of the most popular and most followed tennis stars in the world. However, much of his personal life has been shrouded in secrecy. He was able to keep his relationship with his long-time girlfriend, Xisca Perello, out of the media glare for a very long time.

The media came to know about it only after the couple decided to make a public announcement of their engagement. Till then there were only wild speculations about his love life, and, of course, potential partners. The Spaniard married Xisca in 2019 in Majorca, Spain. The couple welcomed a baby boy this year.

For privacy reasons, only a few names from the tennis community attended the wedding. Those who represented the tennis community in the ceremony include his uncle Toni Nadal, his coach Carlos Moya and Davis Cup teammate David Ferrer.

Only a few people, comprising family members and friends, were actually invited to the ceremony. But the most important names missing from the list are Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic. Both the Swiss and the Serbian are rivals of Nadal on the court, but great friends off it. Speculations were high that there is a tiff in the relationship between the three friends.

However, when the reason for his absence was asked of Roger Federer, he replied that there was no invitation.

I was not invited, and I did not expect it. That’s not a problem at all! I congratulated him on his wedding day and I did not expect him to reply. I knew he had better things to do. Like celebrating in a big way,” The Swiss legend said as reported by The Express.

Similarly, Novak Djokovic was also not invited to the wedding. The trio met to give farewell to the 20-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer at the 2022 Laver Cup in London.
