Roger Federer has been dropped out of the ATP rankings entirely for the first time since the day he started playing. Federer has a tally of 20 singles Grand Slam titles to his name. He was the first person to beat Pete Sampras’s record of most ever singles Grand Slams title by a player, which was 18. His arch-rivals, Rafael Nadal won the Australian Open 2022 and French Open 2022 to take his tally to 22, whereas Novak Djokovic won his 21st Grand Slam title at Wimbledon 2022.
Federer is missing in action since the start of the year 2020 due to his injuries. He was ranked 97th before the start of the Wimbledon 2022 but now he is now totally dropped from the rankings on Monday. The Swiss player had been dealing with a knee surgery followed by three surgeries within a span of 18 months. He was ranked the World No 1 in the ATP rankings for a period of 310 weeks. He also holds the record of 237 consecutive weeks as the top seed player and has finished the year-end as No.1 for five times.
Twitter reacts as Roger Federer is unranked for the first time in 25 years

Roger Federer had been ranked every week since he started playing at the age of 16. He also holds the record of 237 consecutive weeks as the top seed player and has finished the year-end as No 1 for five times. He earned 103 career titles during that time. He has 8 Wimbledon titles, 6 Australian Open titles, 5 US Open titles, and 1 French Open title to his name.
Roger Federer is still uncertain about his professional return. He was last seen playing in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon 2021 where he lost to Hubert Hurkacz. The last time he won a tournament was at the 2018 Australian Open. Federer, at the 100 years celebration of the Centre Court at the SW19, said “I hope I will be able to play at the Wimbledon next year.”
With this, people had different views on his return. Some are optimistic about his return whereas some people think that he will not be able to compete at his best level keeping his injuries concern and lack of fitness whereas Djokovic and Nadal are playing some of the best tennis and winning championships.
