American tennis legends Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova are both vocal on socio-political issues and express their unfiltered opinion, irrespective of others’ opinions. They have shredded the American Political scientist Roger Pielke Jr for discrediting women’s sports in general.

The controversy started when Roger replied to a tweet about ‘Justice for Trans Athletes’ by taking a dig against women, “Let’s say there’s an Olympic medal for hand grip strength Billy, cisgender man, has a super strong grip Billie, a cisgender woman, has a strong grip If they compete, Billy wins OK, let’s cut of Billy’s hand Does he still have “male advantage” in grip strength?

This tweet was not taken lightly by a section of the Twitter community and the American legends also stood against it. Martina Navratilova quote tweeted first stating a reply to Roger, “Roger Pielke’s argument is so poor it beggars belief. Wow. I am actually speechless- Nancy- your patience(Nancy Hogshead-Makaris, civil rights lawyer) of Olympic proportions!!!

Chris Evert has won 18 Grand slam singles titles, This includes a record seven French Open titles and a joint-record of 6 US Open titles(tied with American Former World No.1 Serena Williams). She and her greatest rival Martina Navratilova dominated the game in the 1970s and 1980s.

Evert has recently revealed her battle against cancer and how she managed to beat it twice. After their love life with Jimmy Connors, Evert got married to a British tennis player named John Lloyd in 1979. They got divorced 8 years later. In 1989, She married Andy Mill who was an alpine Ski Racer. This marriage lasted for 19 years and they have 3 sons together. After that, she married Greg Norman, a former professional golfer in 2008. This also didn’t last long and currently, she is single.

Martina Navratilova is one of the greatest players of all time and her iconic rivalry with Chris Evert in the 1970s and 1980s took women’s tennis to new levels. She has had a very long professional career and played in four different decades, starting from 1974 to 2006, and won 18 major titles in singles, 31 titles in doubles, and 10 titles in mixed doubles.

The tennis great has inspired people by opposing injustice against women and the LGBTQ+ community. She never compromises on her principles to voice her opinions for what she believes in and has often tweeted about her opinions with ex-president Donald Trump, including various conserving issues like abortion, same-sex relationships/marriage, arms policies, drug use, and many other problems. That’s not all, as per the popular personality herself, life as a lesbian in America is worse as compared to that of a lesbian in Europe.
