Former World No.1 Rafael Nadal has been a part of the headlines for a long time. Last year, he was badly injured in the middle of the season and had to spend the rest of the season off-court, recovering from the injury. After recovering Rafa started playing matches which did not turn out well for him. However, after this, he was tested positive for COVID 19 and had to take necessary precautions.

In the semifinals, he will take on Matteo Berrettini.

Nadal played his quarterfinals match on Tuesday. At the same time, Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis were playing their doubles match against Tim Puetz and Michael Venu. The matter gained heat when the host broadcaster of the Aussie Open, Channel 9 decided to show the doubles match instead of Rafa’s singles quarterfinal against Denis Shapovalov.

The Australian tennis star Nick was bewildered on this step of the Channel 9. The channel displayed the local favorites instead of tennis legend. They broadcasted the ‘Special Ks’ the nickname given to the pair when they were promising teenagers.

“Nadal is a hell of a player. That’s unexpected,” Kyrgios said. “Shapovalov and Nadal are two probably of the best players in the world right now.”But, I mean, I think the level of entertainment … is different, I think,” Nick said.
