Sweet Gesture: Novak Djokovic shares a heartwarming message on Twitter to an ailing, old fan

Novak Djokovic
World No.1 Novak Djokovic is not only the best tennis player currently, but he is also one of the most generous and gracious personalities in the sporting world. In fact, the Serbian is one of the few tennis players who makes it a point to regularly chat and engage with fans on and off the court.
While one might debate on how and why Djokovic doesn’t draw the same fan following as his rivals Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, the top-ranked player’s genuineness to his fanatics is second to none.
Djokovic’s soft side

Despite his busy schedule, the 34-year-old took time to engage in a twitter conversation with a fan from New Jersey. “Any chance we can get a shoutout to my 92-year-old great aunt Bette who is one of your biggest fans? She is as in the hospital and missed your win this week, but it was the first thing she asked about when she woke up! Searched for you on Cameo, so I’m trying here,” the fan wrote on twitter tagging the 20-time Grand Slam champion.
Instantly, Djokovic’s supporter and fans found themselves involved in the emotional story. In response, the fan thanked one and all for the warm messages, “I’m in awe of how much interaction this is getting! I’m taking screenshots of all of the well wishes and sending them to Aunt Bette! Thank you all so much! She’s still in a hospital in PA, but doing a lot better! I know she’d love to hear from.”
Finally, the 2021 Wimbledon champion respond in a typical heartwarming manner. “Please let Aunt Bette know it’s a privilege to have her as a fan! And to get well soon! Nolefam send all your love her way,” the Serbian superstar responded.
After winning the first three Grand Slams of the year, Djokovic will now focus on the upcoming Tokyo games. After initial uncertainty, the Serb has announced that he will be taking part in the Olympics. Given Djokovic’s recent form and confidence, he is likely to nail the Golden Slam for the year.
