‘Kings’: Osaka backs English football stars after EURO 2020 Final
Many fans crossed all limits and posted monkey emojis on posts by Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Bukayo Saka. Some even went to leave abusive comments as well. Making a point against the abusers, global tennis icon Naomi Osaka to Twitter and posted photos of English football stars who were being abused by the fans.
Osaka didn’t caption the post, but the message she wanted to convey was pretty clear. One can easily spot crowns on the heads of all the players in the post suggesting that these champions are no less than ‘kings’ of the game who deserve appreciation, not abuse.
Osaka’s Tweet is being appreciated by numerous sports lovers. Moreover, making their take on the incidents of abuse very clear, the English Football Association took to Twitter and said that they were “disgusted” by the behaviour of fans online and assured that they will take appropriate actions to throw discrimination out of the game.
