Stefanos Tsitsipas and Rafael Nadal

The Laver Cup is probably one of the most hyped up and exciting tournament on the ATP tour. The best players from Europe and the rest of the world come together to play the 3-day tournament in a refreshing format.

The 2019 edition of the Laver Cup was probably the most exciting one and featured both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. To everyone’s excitement, Nadal and Federer even played a doubles match. Meanwhile, Rafa played another doubles match with Stefanos Tsitsipas which they unfortunately lost to Nick Kyrgios and Jack Sock in three sets.

But during the match, there was a hilarious moment at the changeover where Nadal was confused by Tsitsipas’ finger calls at the net. “We need to be a little bit more clear,” Nadal laughed. “.. with the fingers because I didn’t understand what you called.”

Nadal then showed some hand gestures to Tsitsipas and confirmed that a fist shown means you stay at the same place and if you show any finger, you’ve to cross.

Team Europe will once again enter the Laver Cup as overwhelming favorites. 5 of the 6 players are ranked inside the top 10 and are currently the best on tour. The lineup consists of US Open champion Daniil Medvedev, Cincinnati Masters champion Alexander Zverev, Wimbledon finalist Matteo Berrettini, French Open finalist Alexander Zverev, World No.5 Andrey Rublev and Casper Ruud.

Given the star studded lineup, the only thing they will miss is the presence of the Big 3. Having said that, it will be an upset if Team World come anywhere near to beat Team Europe.
