Ahead of her appearance at the Milan Fashion week, Williams took to Instagram to share a video of her donning a black customized sweatshirt with the word ‘GOAT’ written on it, an accurate description of her achievements on-court. While all her Grand Slam titles both singles and doubles are emblazoned on the back.

Her sister Venus Williams was in awe of Serena’s sweatshirt, she replied to the post saying “Ok but I want one.” The sweatshirt was designed by Serena’s own fashion line which she launched recently named ‘S by Serena.’

Shortly after that, Serena attended the Fashion Week as a guest of Gucci. She dazzled in a feather caped all-black dress, while her husband Alexis sported a black blazer.

Serena hasn’t played a match since her first-round match in Wimbledon last year, where she was forced to retire mid-match with a leg injury after she twisted her ankle during the first set. The American hasn’t given any update on her injury and is yet to announce her return to the tour. As a result of this, she plummeted down the rankings and is out of the top-200, she is currently ranked No.241 in the latest WTA rankings.

Serena recently addressed rumors around her retirement, the American didn’t give a specific timeline about her return but said she has plans in place already for her retirement.

I am prepared for that day, I’ve been prepared for that day for over a decade. You know, at the end of the day, I think it’s really important to always have a plan and that’s kind of what I did. I always had a plan,” she said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly last month.

Williams might be looking to make a comeback to give one last shot on winning another Grand Slam. With 23 Grand Slams to her name, the American sits at second position for winning the most Grand Slams, behind Margaret Court, who won 24. The 40-year-old hasn’t won a Grand Slam in nearly 5 years. Although she reached four finals since winning her 23rd title at the Australian Open in 2017, she couldn’t cross the final hurdle.
