Laura Siegemund is set to make her Grass debut for the season at the upcoming Bad Homburg Open 2021. The German last played in the 2nd round of the 2019 Wimbledon where she was defeated in straight-sets and with the 2021 Wimbledon just around the corner, Laura will be looking for making a positive start to her Grass campaign.
Laura has not had much success this year with nearly equal wins and defeats. She last played at the 2021 French Open where she was defeated in the first round and now travels from Paris back in her homeland to prepare for the upcoming Grand Slam.
Sloane Stephens will also be making her Grass debut for the season as she plays for the first time since her 3rd round defeat at the 2019 Wimbledon. The American registered her first win on Grass in 2019 for the first time since 2016 and will be looking to begin well for this year’s Grass season.
Stephens last played on the tour at the 2021 French Open where she was defeated in the 4th round by eventual champion Barbora Krejcikova who later won a historic double winning both the Singles and Doubles trophy at the French Open 2021. Stephens had a fairly successful Clay campaign as compared to her Hard court season where she could win only 1 match in 6 games.
