The entry list for the 2021 Transylvania Open at Cluj-Napoca, Romania is out and the tournament will most probably be headlined by home favorite Simona Halep. The Romanian, who has dropped out of the top 10, had a decent outing at the US Open where she reached the Round of 16 before losing to Elina Svitolina in straight sets.

The other big name on the entry list is Emma Raducanu. The US Open champion is also on the list for Kremlin Cup which will be played a week prior to the Transylvania Open. Raducanu is third on the list and if all goes well, this could be the first tournament where she will be one of the top 4 seeds.

The Transylvania Open will he held from October 25 and will be the biggest tournament on the WTA tour before the WTA Finals at Guadalajara. Here is the entry list of the 2021 Transylvania Open.

Recently, at an LTA event, Raducanu revealed that she got a message from Simona Halep after her US Open triumph. She added that Halep is one of her idol growing up alongwith Li Na.

“I got a message from Simona Halep on direct message and it meant a lot to receive a note from her,” Raducanu said. “She’s achieved great things and she’s one of my role models that I’ve watched growing up. I love the way she plays.”

If both players decide to play the event, it will be interesting to see them play each other in the later stages of the tournament.
