Iga Swiatek reaches the 2nd round of the Wimbledon for the first time as she registered her first ever win at the All-England Club in the 1st round of the Wimbledon 2021. Swiatek who is a former Junior Champion at Wimbledon was knocked out in the first round of the 2019 Wimbledon denying her a chance to register her maiden win.

Swiatek was up against Su-Wei Hsieh in the first round and won the tie 6-4, 6-4 to win her first match. Swiatek needed just 76 minutes to win the match and advance into the next round.

Vera Zvonareva won her first Wimbledon match since 2014 after losing in the 3rd round of the 2014 Wimbledon. She did not participate for 4 years and played again in the 2018 Wimbledon but lost in the first round itself. Her first round win at the 2021 Wimbledon ended her drought of 7 years.

Vera was up against Marie Bouzcova in the first round and defeated the Czech national 7-5, 6-4 to register her 3rd win of the season on Grass. Vera previosly played at the 2021 Eastbourne International where she reached the main-draw from the 2 qualifying rounds but failed to win the 1st round of the main-draw.
